Origins is an educational and nostalgic journey through the early days of Solana. From the founders, Toly and Raj, to the beach that gave the blockchain its name - every location, NPC and running joke is a piece of the real story.
A Qualcomm engineer decided a blockchain could keep its own clock. Not Proof of Work, not Proof of Stake - Proof of History. That idea became the Solana whitepaper, and everything after it.
The company launched as Loom, found out Ethereum already had a Loom Network, and renamed itself after the Californian beach where the founders surfed and argued about consensus.
Solana went live in March 2020 and never dropped the beta label. The early outages turned it into a running joke, and the team leaned in - the tag stays on for the bit.
SBF was one of the earliest and loudest bets on Solana, and the tweet offering to buy everyone’s SOL at $3 has aged into ecosystem folklore.
The three starters are not random animals. They are a nod to the collections that built Solana NFTs in the first place - the apes, the dragons, the penguins.
Serum - also Sam’s - was one of the first real DEXs on Solana, and its drop-shaped mark became part of the ecosystem’s furniture.

One connected world on a real clock: a full day takes fifteen minutes - ten of sun, five of dark - you wake at 08:00, and the days you have survived are counted. Every marker is somewhere you can walk into, and most of them are somewhere you have unfinished business.
This is where your journey begins - the place where you meet Anatoly Yakovenko and take your first steps into the world ahead.
After you bring Toly the first five whitepaper pages, he gives you a partner for the adventure. Each one has a different play style, a different element, and a genesis skill that costs 20 Gas to fire.
Speed is attack speed - it decides who moves first. Every stat above is the genesis value; from there it is yours to build, one Lampoint at a time.
Your pet is faster, so you go first. Choose your action. Everything after that runs on numbers you can see and build around.

SolarCountering grants +25% damage. Being countered costs you the same 25%. On top of that, each element buffs and debuffs certain stats outright.
The experience your pet gains from every battle. Win and it earns properly; lose and it gets 5. Beat something above your level and the reward grows, farm something below it and it shrinks.
Every level-up hands you 5 Lampoints. Spend them at the Dojo on whichever stat your build needs. Changed your mind? A Reset Potion undoes every Lampoint you have ever spent.

Potions upgrade your pet’s stats without spending a single Lampoint, and sneakers change how you move. Pay in

Boosts movement and attack speed, so actions are performed more quickly.
Increases maximum HP, letting your pet endure longer in battle.
Reduces incoming damage, strengthening your defence.
Use it in the Dojo to reset every upgrade you made with Lampoints.
Improves critical hit rate, increasing the chance of extra damage.
Expands gas capacity - essential for pets to use their special moves.
Boosts attack power, making your strikes more devastating.
Fast sneakers come in two variants. Buy the pair that matches where you are walking and hold 
to run. Solana Beach is bigger than it looks, and the whitepaper pages are not close together.
Every Player1 is a playable character and its own save file. Own several and you can play all of them, each keeping its own progress, items and XP. Pick a number and meet it.
No NFT? You still play, with a default character and reduced XP rewards. Some 1/1s are walking around as NPCs.
A DAO in Web3 runs on the chain with no central authority: the members own it. In Origins it is the building down the road, with four floors and a members list. Joining one is always free. Founding one is not.

Without warning, the world halts. You cannot move, cannot open a menu, cannot do anything - the warning light goes red and you are behind the rack with a loose cable. Press

It is not a bug and it is not punishment. Solana has carried the mainnet-beta label since March 2020, and Origins is not about to pretend otherwise. Solving one on the first attempt is its own quest.
The tutorial walks you through the core interactions, and it ends with Toly handing you the first real objective. From there the game stops holding your hand.
“Find 5 pages of the Solana Whitepaper scattered around the map, then bring them back to me.” Hand them over and Toly gives you your first pet - Monkey, Dragon or Penguin. This is where the real adventure starts.
